  Good homemade Italian comfort food that feels like it came straight from an Italian grandmothers kitchen. The food served is very classic and simple. The old fasioned decor lends to that old school classic Italian feel of the place. Don't go there expecting the latest innovations in Italian food. It's just a good spot for classic Italian comfort food.

  I have tried to make marinara sauce like the Colander for three decades to no avail. The sauce is decadent, sweet, oily, simple and addicting. Some days I get cold sweats dreaming about it. The Colander is a no nonsense eating barn for carb hungry humans desiring the simple but charming etiquette of fast service for great food, for a reasonably fair price. Your Nonna will be jealous.

  I only had one bad thing to say about the restaurant in which I wish not to disclose here and is the only reason I didn't give it the big 5. The food was great and gave you feel of home cooking, just like mama makes. I ordered the lasagna and meatballs which was priced right and came with a bowl of salad and a bun. The "dinning hall" looks like it hasn't been touched since it began and is pretty echoey. But besides the gym like pop-up restaurant look, it's all about the food in the end and the food was pretty damn good for the money.

  Fantastic service. Great atmosphere. The best spaghetti around. Delicious.
